Jennifer Lopez Announces She’s Donating $1 Million to Aid Hurricane Relief in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean

Jennifer Lopez Announces She’s Donating $1 Million to Aid Hurricane Relief in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean

by Maria Pasquini @ PEOPLE.com

On Sunday, Jennifer Lopez joined New York governor Andrew Cuomo in a press conference announcing she was donating $1 million from the proceeds of her Las Vegas show to aid hurricane relief in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

First in Spanish and then in English, Lopez, 48, shared her announcement in a speech that was live-streamed on Twitter.

“Alex Rodriguez and I, who are both New Yorkers, are utilizing all our resources and relationships in entertainment, sports and business to garner support for Puerto Rican and Caribbean relief efforts,” Lopez said.

In addition to her own personal contribution, Lopez announced that the New York Yankees and the MLB “have both committed to join us in giving a significant contribution to this cause.”

Lopez shared that together with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, they were working to spearhead “additional relief efforts” to “rush the relief that our brothers and sisters in Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean desperately need.”

She announced she was also working with Dallas Mavericks owner and Shark Tank star Mark Cuban and Dallas Mavericks Puerto Rican player J.J. Barea to send over two airplanes filled with supplies and generators to San Juan, Puerto Rico — they’re just waiting for air clearance.

“I’ve been so moved by the initial responses,” she continued. “They have been overwhelming, nobody has said no. Anybody we’ve have called is right there asking what they can do. They’re all very eager to help.”

In her speech, Lopez confirmed that she still has not heard from all of her family members in Puerto Rico.

“My cousin and I and our family still haven’t been able to hear from all of our family over there and we are concerned for them and for everybody on the island,” she said, echoing the news she revealed on Thursday.

“The conditions are dire,” the star told PEOPLE. “We need to do as much as we can to help the people of Puerto Rico.”

In the meantime, Lopez is doing everything she can to help raise awareness and money for Puerto Rico in the aftermath of the devastating storm.

“Jen and Alex are making personal phone calls to their celebrity friends and heads of corporations and asking them to donate either funds, planes or money to get supplies to Puerto Rico,” says a source.

Lopez, Rodriguez and Anthony are among other stars with ties to the island making impassioned pleas for donations and aid. Ricky Martin, “Despacito” singer Daddy Yankee and Rosie Perez are also using their star power to help raise awareness and money.

“What’s on my mind is what’s going on in Puerto Rico. The devastation is beyond belief,” J Lo said in an Instagram post backstage from her Las Vegas residency show. “Me and my cousin still haven’t been able to hear from our families over there.

“What’s foremost on my mind and many others is trying to figure out the best way to help,” she added. “Today, Puerto Rico needs our help. I urge you to support and donate to the efforts of the First Lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Areizaga. Together we can help rebuild our island, and the Caribbean.”

Body Butter vs. Body Lotion For Your Skin Type

by marketing@ayresbeauty.com (ayresadmin) @ AYRES Beauty Blog

Keeping your skin moisturized day-in, day-out, and year-round isn't exactly a big secret. But when it comes to what kind of moisturizer you should use, now that's a much harder decision. With so many different skin types, skin tones, and skin conditions out there, there's no wonder there are a plethora of products out there!

So before we jump right into which is better for you: body butter vs. body lotion for your skin type, let's just take a quick crash course in what both of these remedies try to treat - dry skin.

Dry skin is caused when skin cells are unable to retain essential and optimal moisture levels. Dry skin is typically caused by dry heat, or the repeated removal of the skin's lipid or oily layer, which is critical to protecting the skin from moisture loss. Excessive washing, scrubbing, and cleaning is usually the culprit of the latter.

Now that we know the basics behind dry skin, let's take a look at how body lotions and body butters stack up when they go head-to-head!

Benefits of lotion: Probably the more common item, body lotions can be found in pretty much every household. They rely on a combination of water and oil, bound together through the use of an emulsifier. Lotions also tend to go on smoothly, absorb quickly, and leave no greasy trail, regardless of whether it's a moisturizing lotion to relieve dry skin or medicated lotions like calamine.

Benefits of butter:

A little lesser known, body butters are normally comprised of three basic ingredients: coconut oil or butter, shea butter, and a vegetable oil. There are, of course, a variety of body butters, and normally come in three different forms: whipped, waxless, and even a bar-type. While the waxless and bar-types of body butters are more easily absorbed by the skin, the whipped butter usually includes beeswax, which makes the formula slightly harder to absorb but has longer-lasting effects. Regardless of the type, all body butters are thicker than lotions and tend to leave a film on the surface of the skin. But the trade-off? Longer moisturizing effects.

So which should you choose?

Because most body butters include shea butter, an all-natural, vitamin A cream with healing properties, this makes them a great remedy for skin severely damaged by dryness, chapping, or windburn. Body butters, in general, will provide longer-lasting, superior emollients, making it a better choice when dry skin also needs intense moisture and healing. But if your skin isn't exactly severely damaged, burned, or dry, and all you're really looking for is a little added moisture, a lighter, more easily absorbed lotion is probably adequate. The truth is, both of these have great applications and benefits; pay attention to what your body tells you and when.

Tips to avoid dry skin:

During the wintertime, try using a humidifier and opt for lukewarm showers and baths instead of hot, and avoid using excessively-drying soaps and body products, including deodorant soaps. Try to avoid wearing irritating fabrics and choosing a fragrance-free detergent when doing your laundry.

Daily Rituals for Perfect Skin

by marketing@ayresbeauty.com (ayresadmin) @ AYRES Beauty Blog

Keeping your skin smooth, supple and blemish-free is easier than you think, no matter what your age or skin type. It’s just a question of establishing good skincare habits at home – and sticking to them every day. Here are our 5 perfect skin care tips for healthy happy skin.

Exfoliate:

For a perfect complexion, dermatologists recommend exfoliating once or twice a week. Infused with herbal extracts, our Midnight Tango Body Polish is formulated with mild exfoliating agents such as apricot seed powder to gently remove dead skin cells so that new cells can emerge. Plus, our Midnight Tango range has a seriously seductive fragrance: a sweet orange blossom, vanilla, neroli and ylang-ylang blend.

Cleanse:

To avoid clogging up your pores, it’s essential that you use a good cleanser – and use it often. The AYRES cleansing beauty products are made with natural, skin-loving ingredients that not only clean but also nourish the skin. It's no secret that essential oils leave skin feeling soft, which is why our Sweet Nostalgia Bar Soap is enriched with smooth shea butter and olive oil; and our best-selling Pampas Sunrise shower cream is blended with jojoba oil.

Moisturize:

Thought only people with dry skin have to moisturize? Think again. To get that irresistible healthy glow, it’s worth investing in a quality, parabens-free body moisturizer and apply religiously morning and night, whatever your skin type. Our Midnight Tango Body Polish and Patagonia body butter are made with all-natural ingredients and enriched with antioxidants such as vitamin E and A to help skin looking young and radiant.

Sleep:

There’s a reason why a good night’s rest is called ‘beauty sleep’ – an uninterrupted 8-hour shuteye leaves you and your skin feeling refreshed and energized. Skin cells repair and renew during sleep, so don’t get in the habit of staying up late too many nights in a row.

Hydrate:

The number one rule for healthy skin is to keep hydrated. This means upping your H20 intake – we recommend carrying a bottle of mineral water with you everywhere you go – as well as investing in a good body lotion. Our Sweet Nostalgia Body Lotion will not only leave you smelling divine (think jacaranda, gardenia and white peonies with an undertone of apricot) but will also leave your skin looking and feeling hydrated, silky soft to the touch and thoroughly revitalized.

The Benefits of Lemongrass Oil

by marketing@ayresbeauty.com (ayresadmin) @ AYRES Beauty Blog

You’ve probably heard all about the benefits of essential oils such as patchouli, lavender and rosemary. Their properties have been widely researched, used in aromatherapy treatments and featured in health and beauty magazines the world over. But what if we were to tell you that there’s another, lesser known oil, that has a long list of skin-loving benefits? A main ingredient in the AYRES Pampas Sunrise collection, natural lemongrass oil is the infection-busting, muscle-relaxing, skin-healing queen of all oils, and to top it all off, it has an alluring citrusy scent that will leave you feeling - and smelling - summer fresh. Here are 4 reasons why we love it:

The top 4 Benefits of Lemongrass Oil:

1) It’s a mood enhancer. Research has shown that lemongrass oil reduces stress and anxiety. By helping relax muscles and the mind, it helps aid sleep and is also used for aromatherapy massages. Slather on our Pampas Sunrise body butter or body polish and feel your serotonin levels rise.

2) It’s a natural cleanser. Packed with essential vitamins, lemongrass oil has antimicrobial properties that keep bacteria at bay. Not only that but its astringent properties help control excess oil by closing pores. Our shower cream and bar soap have a three-in-one effect: they’ll strengthen, clean and tone your skin, leaving it with a healthy glow.

3) It’s an antioxidant. Citral, a main component of lemongrass oil, is thought to stop the growth of skin cancer cells. Together with vitamins A and E in our Pampas Sunrise body lotion, the aromatic essential oil helps neutralise free radicals and protect your skin from harm.

4) It boosts the immune system. Lemongrass oil absorbs nutrients into the skin, helping your body stay strong and healthy, on the inside and on the out.

Blended with other all-natural citrus scents such as mandarin, lime and lemon blossom, the Pampas Sunrise collection was created to revitalise and refresh the skin. A subtle undertone of cedar wood gives our products on this line a unique and irresistible aroma, and the addition of jojoba oil moisturizes and softens the skin.

Tom Brady Seen Linking Arms with Teammates During the National Anthem Following Trump’s Controversial Comments

Tom Brady Seen Linking Arms with Teammates During the National Anthem Following Trump’s Controversial Comments

by Maria Pasquini @ PEOPLE.com

Tom Brady was seen linking arms with his New England Patriots teammates during the national anthem at their Sunday afternoon game against the Houston Texans.

Patriots reporter for the Providence Journal Mark Daniels also noted that lots of defensive players chose to take a knee.

On Sunday morning, Brady subtly showed his support for the NFL players’ protest following Donald Trump’s recent comments about how professional athletes like Colin Kaepernick — who have chosen to protest the national anthem by taking a knee — should be fired.

Brady posted a picture of him and his teammate James White captioned, “Strength. Passion. Love. Brotherhood. Team. Unity. Commitment. Dedication. Determination. Respect. Loyalty. Work.”

Brady also commented on a photo posted by Aaron Rogers — which featured the Green Bay Packers quarterback kneeling with other players — with a flexing arm emoji.

Brady said last October that he considers Trump a friend.

The two met in 2002 — just as Brady claimed his first Super Bowl title, reports CBS Sports. He was hired by Trump’s organization as a judge on the Miss USA pageant, and the two have remained supportive of one another through the years.

“I met him probably 15, 16 years ago,” Brady said of Trump. “We’ve played golf together many, many times and I’ve always had a good time with him. He’s been a friend of mine.”

RELATED VIDEO: Watch: Natasha Stoynoff Breaks Silence, Accuses Donald Trump of Sexual Attack

During a rally speech in Alabama on Friday, Trump stated, “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, say, ‘Get that son of a b–ch off the field right now. Out, you’re fired.’”

He followed this up by pouring more gasoline on the fire with a series of tweets. “If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL, or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect…our Great American Flag (or Country) and should stand for the National Anthem,” he wrote. “If not, YOU’RE FIRED. Find something else to do!”

Numerous celebrities — including Stevie Wonder, Diddy and Uzo Aduba — have also joined in standing behind the players, using the #TakeAKnee hashtag on social media.

On Sunday, multiple players on both the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars took a knee during the national anthem during a game in London. Others, including coaches, linked arms on the sideline in solidarity.

New England Patriots owner Robert Craft, who is considered an ally of Trump and even gave him a Super Bowl LI ring, issued a statement on Sunday about how he was “disappointed” in the president.

“I am deeply disappointed by the tone of the comments made by the President on Friday,” Kraft said. “I am proud to be associated with so many players who make such tremendous contributions in positively impacting our communities.”

“Their efforts, both on and off the field, help bring people together and make our community stronger. There is no greater unifier in this country than sports, and unfortunately, nothing more divisive than politics,” he continued. “I think our political leaders could learn a lot from the lessons of teamwork and the importance of working together toward a common goal. Our players are intelligent, thoughtful and care deeply about our community and I support their right to peacefully affect social change and raise awareness in a manner that they feel is most impactful.”

Why use natural skincare ingredients?

by marketing@ayresbeauty.com (ayresadmin) @ AYRES Beauty Blog

Synthetic versus natural: when it comes to skincare, does it really matter? The short answer is yes. Being the body’s largest organ, skin absorbs up to 60% of what we put on it, which is why it’s so important to choose natural.

Before buying skincare products, it’s always worth studying the back of the packaging labels carefully. If you find the list of ingredients reads like a chemistry experiment, move on. Much like supermarket food labels, too many names of ingredients you’ve never heard of is not a good sign: synthetic ingredients take a toll on your body in the long-term - particularly your immune system - and can even cause irritation or inflammation. In a nutshell, the more you’re exposed to chemical ingredients, the worse for your health.

It’s advisable to do your research and know what to avoid when picking products: make sure your beauty basics are free of harmful chemicals and preservatives, that they’re non-allergenic and GMO-free, and that all ingredients are naturally-derived and not tested on animals.

The AYRES beauty products tick all these boxes. Paraben-free and made with natural ingredients that enhance the skin’s natural function to regenerate, they also keep skin looking and feeling silky soft. The Midnight Tango collection is seductively sweet, with rosemary, ylang-ylang and vanilla essential oils to hydrate and rejuvenate. Many of the products in all collections, most notably the floral-scented Sweet Nostalgia range and the citrusy Pampas Sunrise, include creamy shea butter that locks in the skin’s natural moisture, while the Patagonia range is wonderfully aromatic and fresh, thanks to the natural lavender, jasmine and patchouli ingredients. Rest assured that all products in the four collections are loaded with anti-oxidant properties, mainly derived from vitamins A and E, helping to protect skin and lending it that irresistible healthy glow. Another natural ingredient in every AYRES lotion, shower cream, polish is the multi-purpose jojoba oil, which promises to keep skin smooth and wrinkle-free.

Of course, the effects of going natural will not be seen overnight. But maintaining a good daily skincare regime – starting with understanding and choosing quality beauty products that are gentle yet effective – will certainly pay off in the long-run.

Steelers Are a No-Show on Field During National Anthem Following Donald Trump’s NFL Tirade

Steelers Are a No-Show on Field During National Anthem Following Donald Trump’s NFL Tirade

by Stephanie Petit @ PEOPLE.com

As the national anthem played before Sunday’s game, no Pittsburgh Steelers were on the sideline.

The Steelers players stayed in the locker room during the “Star-Spangled Banner” prior to their game against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field, with only the coaches present on the field. Steelers offensive tackle Alejandro Villanueva, a veteran who served in the army, stood just outside of the tunnel entrance to the field alone with his hand over his heart.

Head coach Mike Tomlin told CBS Sports about the team’s plans before the game.

“We’re not participating in the anthem today, not to be disrespectful to the anthem – to remove ourselves from this circumstance,” he said. “People shouldn’t have to choose. If a guy wants to go about his normal business and participate in the anthem, he shouldn’t be forced to choose sides. If a guy feels the need to do something, he shouldn’t be separated from his teammate who chooses not to.”

Before facing off in London, multiple players on both the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars took a knee during the national anthem on Sunday.

Jaguars owner Shad Khan, the only minority owner in the NFL, stood and linked arms with players Marcedes Lewis and Telvin Smith.

Tom Brady shared a photo on Instagram Sunday showing him and teammate James White during a game, subtly showing support for the movement.

“Strength. Passion. Love. Brotherhood. Team. Unity. Commitment. Dedication. Determination. Respect. Loyalty. Work,” he captioned the image, adding the hashtag #nflplayer.

Brady also reacted to a photo posted by Aaron Rodgers, which featured the Green Bay Packers quarterback kneeling with other players. The five-time Super Bowl champion commented with a simple arm flexing emoji.

According to ESPN, several Miami Dolphins players donned ‘IMWITHKAP’ shirts ahead of their game against the New York Jets.

In August 2016, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick made headlines — and sparked a movement — when he took a knee during the national anthem.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick said at the time. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

Numerous celebrities — including Diddy — have also joined in standing behind the players, causing a resurgence of the #TakeAKnee hashtag on social media.

10 Years After Dove's 'Real Beauty' Campaign, More Brands Fight for Real Women

10 Years After Dove's 'Real Beauty' Campaign, More Brands Fight for Real Women

TakePart

It's been 10 years since Dove launched its “Campaign for Real Beauty”—a stark series of ads that were radical and simple in equal measure—featuring lovely, normal-sized women who didn’t need Photoshop to look radiant. The ads, which ran in 2004 and 2005, lacked any screed about the pressures that come with being a woman in a visual culture that’s awash in creatively lit, digitally manipulated images of dangerously thin models. The folks behind the campaign simply let us feel our own shock at seeing women with normal curves and natural faces being celebrated for their beauty in a national advertisement. Dove didn't stop there. The soap maker added rocket fuel to the conversation in 2006, when its time-lapse "Evolution" video went viral. The movement to expose marketers' use of trickery to convince us that we're failing if we don't have flawless skin and breathtaking bodies was here to stay. Significant progress has been made since Dove's campaign: The American public, the blogosphere, and the Twitterverse now routinely call out magazine publishers and marketers for digitally altering images of girls and women to shrink their bodies, smooth their faces, and otherwise morph them to fit an unrealistic, narrow ideal of beauty. The pace is quickening. In just the past few months, there's been even more progress and a few moments that drove the dialogue forward. 1. The more bare skin a campaign flaunts, the more Photoshop it typically gets. But American Eagle says its new campaign for the Aerie line of lingerie will not use any altered images of models. Instead, “real” girls and women can upload unretouched photos of themselves to a photo gallery. Sure, it’s pretty screwed up that selling underwear using real photos of gorgeous, skinny young girls (instead of digitally improved gorgeous, skinny young girls) is seen as groundbreaking. But moving away from the idealized versions of women who don't exist is a footstep Dove took, and the clothier is now following its lead. “It’s great that we’re beginning to break that down,” said Heather Arnet, executive director of the Women & Girls Foundation, of the fakeries that line the glossies. 2. Forever Yours Lingerie didn't stop working with model Elly Mayday when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last year. It featured beautiful shots of her with surgical scars unhidden and no wig or digital fakery to hide the baldness that resulted from her cancer treatment. Rather than looking like something’s missing, Mayday’s baldness comes across as strong and sexy. It’s empowering for the rest of us to see a woman outside the beauty mold we’ve been sold for so long—and to find ourselves aspiring to emulate her sexy confidence and appeal. (Forever Yours also gets points for raising money toward Mayday’s medical expenses.) 3. A new time-lapse video released by Hungarian pop star Boggie shows her singing a pop song called “Nouveau Parfum” while being Photoshopped, a fresh take on Dove's "Evolution" that's amplified by the resigned expression on her face. As the song unfolds, pieces of her disappear and are overwritten: Boggie’s eyes, like everyone else’s, aren’t exactly symmetrical. So one is deleted, then replaced by an exact copy of the other. Not a single square inch of her face or hair is left untouched. 4. Earlier last month during the Golden Globes, actor Diane Keaton took the stage to honor Woody Allen, her tousled hair and menswear-chic outfit reminding us of the trend she set when Annie Hall hit theaters in 1977. It was also clear on high-definition screens across America that at 68, she's got (oh, the horror!) lots of lines on her gorgeous face. When her speech ended, the network cut to a commercial break featuring Keaton selling L'Oréal cosmetics without a line on her digitally enhanced face, seemingly sporting the skin of a 25-year-old. Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook quickly lit up with scorn. That social media response is valuable, Arnet says, because younger women and girls are active on Instagram and Twitter and are participating in those conversations. 5. Former Cosmopolitan editor Leah Hardy drew attention for admitting that during her tenure the magazine routinely Photoshopped out the protruding bones of super skinny models to keep readers from seeing how emaciated the models really were. Since that admission surfaced, before-and-after comparisons of bone-thin models and their healthier-looking altered images have been popping up around the Web. Apparently the world’s top fashion magazines, despite the huge budgets at their disposal, cannot find a single woman on the planet who isn’t either too thin or too fat for their liking. It’s further reinforcement of the conclusion we’d love to share with every tween girl who’s just beginning to notice her appearance: The elusive “perfection” that every cosmetic company and clothing retailer is trying to sell you does not exist. 6. Mindy Kaling might not have minded, but many other people did: When Elle magazine published covers for its February 2014 issue featuring Kaling, readers and pundits immediately questioned why Kaling's cover was a black-and-white close-up rather than the full-color, full-body shots of the other (skinnier and more "conventionally" beautiful) actors. That's the key: We've begun to make a habit of questioning how women are depicted and what tools are being used to change or edit their appearance for public consumption. Yes, the visual landscape is still awash with altered images, surgically altered models, and the pressure to be thinner, younger, and closer to the narrow beauty ideal that so much marketing pushes on us. Marketers aren’t going to stop selling us

Thomas Rhett Is Excited to Celebrate Christmas with Kids: Last Year ‘Was Literally Me, My Wife and 2 Dogs’

Thomas Rhett has belted out a lot of songs in his career, but his newest single “Life Changes” is probably the most apropos.

On Aug. 12, he and his wife Lauren Akins welcomed daughter Ada James. Just a few months prior, the couple adopted their daughter, Willa Gray, now 22-months-old.

How’s that for life changes?

“Last Christmas it was literally me and my wife and two dogs, and this Christmas is going to be my wife, two dogs and two kids,” he told PEOPLE at the iHeartRadio music festival in Las Vegas on Saturday. “I would say that’s the most massive change on the planet.”

“It’s hard,” he said of juggling new fatherhood (times two!) and touring,”but Lauren has been so amazing.”

In fact, his wife flew to Los Angeles on Friday with the children to surprise him during his show at The Greek, which he says “is not an easy flight with two kids under 2.”

Like we said, life changes.

Benicio del Toro Urges Fans to Help Puerto Rico: ‘Nothing You’ve Read or Watched on TV Compares’

by Maria Pasquini @ PEOPLE.com

On Sunday, Puerto Rican actor Benicio del Torro shared a video message with PEOPLE urging his fans to donate to hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico.

“I want to read a little excerpt of a message from a family member, one of the 3.5 American citizens that experienced the devastation of Hurricane Maria from the island of Puerto Rico,” he said.

“Saturday Sept. 23, 2017,” he continued. “Three days after Hurricane Maria crossed through the island. Finally the sun came out today and for the first time we can clearly see the aftermath. Nothing you’ve read or watched on tv compares to the destruction we see with our very eyes. End of quote.”

“Hurricane Maria has left a path of destruction and loss of life, the full extent of which has yet to be determined. Please help me help our people and donate to Unidos for Puerto Rico,” he added.

On Sept. 20, Hurricane Maria made landfall on the 100-mile-long island of Puerto Rico, causing such tremendous damage with its 155-mph winds that it knocked out power for all 3.5 million residents.

Maria killed at least nine people on Dominica before it moved to Puerto Rico, where it toppled trees, tore roofs from buildings, and damaged reservoirs and rivers that—along with heavy rain—have caused severe flooding.

This came just two weeks after ferocious Hurricane Irma destroyed much of the U.S. Virgin Islands and killed three people in Puerto Rico.

NFL Re-Airing ‘Unity’ Ad Following Donald Trump’s Controversial Comments About Players

by Tierney McAfee @ PEOPLE.com

The NFL is taking a united stand after President Donald Trump called for the firing of basketball and football stars like Colin Kaepernick who have chosen to protest the national anthem by taking a knee.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has announced that the league will re-air a unity television advertisement on Sunday night following Trump’s controversial comments over the weekend.

“We will air this Unity spot in tonight’s game,” Goodell said in a tweet on Sunday afternoon. “It reflects the unifying force of our great game, our players & clubs.”

An NFL spokesman added to CNN, “We think this is the single best response to demonstrate what we are about. It stands in stark contrast to some who practice the politics of division.”

The one-minute ad, called “Inside These Lines,” first ran during February’s Super Bowl and will be re-aired during Sunday night’s game between the Oakland Raiders and Washington Redskins.

The spot shows images of football players embracing each other while a narrator says, “Inside these lines, we don’t have to come from the same place to help each other reach the same destination.”

RELATED VIDEO: Watch: Natasha Stoynoff Breaks Silence, Accuses Donald Trump of Sexual Attack

The move comes after Trump, at a rally for Alabama Republican Senate candidate Luther Strange on Friday, said he thought NFL team owners should fire players who have protested the national anthem.

RELATED: United They Kneel: Over 100 Players Protest Donald Trump’s Controversial Comments During the National Anthem

He doubled down on his comments in a series of tweets on Saturday and Sunday, saying NFL players “should not be allowed to disrespect … our Great American Flag,” and encouraging NFL fans to boycott games in counter-protest.

He added that he thought locking arms would be an acceptable form of protest but that “kneeling is not acceptable.”

Goodell previously said that president’s remarks about the NFL demonstrated “an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL.”

A Brief of History of Tango

by marketing@ayresbeauty.com (ayresadmin) @ AYRES Beauty Blog

Like the AYRES beauty collections, tango too was born from a blend of exotic ingredients. Its origins can be traced back to African, European and South American steps and sounds fused together back in the late 19th century. Its birthplace, the docks of the River Plate.

The history of tango is a magical rags-to-riches tale: a genre created in Buenos Aires’s poorest neighbourhoods which made its way to the world’s most elegant dancehalls. To this day, tango is one of Argentina’s most captivating cultural exports.

Following Europe’s dramatic economic downfall of the 1880s, millions of male immigrants made their way to Argentina in search of a better life. By night, after a hard day’s work at the docks, they gathered to express yearning for their homelands through music – sounds of the violin, flamenco guitar, bandoneon, Argentine folk, Cuban habanera and African candombe of the freed slaves were combined to create the first tango. The accompanying dance was also an amalgamation of steps – primarily the waltz, mazurka and polka. It started off as a semi-combative dance between two men and gradually became a type of mating dance in the bordellos.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Argentina became one of the world’s wealthiest countries. The elite took to holidaying in Europe, and news of this risqué, exotic dance called tango spread among Parisian nobility. The craze quickly took off. Only when the genre became the height of fashion in Europe did the Argentine elite embrace the tango as their own.

Throughout the 1900s, tango became mainstream in Argentina. Singers such as Carlos Gardel and composers like Astor Piazzolla became household names and are still revered in Argentina to this day. In the 1940s, populist leaders Eva and Juan Perón were great lovers of the tango – under their government, its popularity soared, only to decline in the 50s and 60s during Argentina’s frequent coup d'états. The 80s saw a revival of the classic tango in Paris and Argentina; while the 90s experienced the rise of electro-tango – a sub-genre that gave the tango a new lease of life.

Although the tango has evolved dramatically since its humble beginnings, it has always retained its key element: passion. It’s this Latin passion that inspired our bestselling Midnight Tango Collection; the nostalgic sounds of the bandoneon, the romance of an embrace and the sensual fishnet stockings of the dancers are all reflected in the AYRES products.

The Advantages of Using Web-to-Print Technology

Web-to-print technology is a term that has been around for quite a few years now, but only now is it gaining in popularity due to the growing need for businesses to cut costs and to increase total efficiency. While there are a lot of definitions out there that attempt to explain web-to-print technology, the most basic description is essentially the joining of digital online content and commercial print production. A collaborative web portal is usually accessible by a client, a designer, and a printer, and this site allows those involved in the process to create, edit, and oversee available products. […]

‘This Is a Mass Casualty Situation’: 1 Dead and Multiple People Injured After Gunman Opens Fire in Nashville Church

by Stephanie Petit @ PEOPLE.com

One person was killed and seven others were wounded during a shooting at a church in Antioch, Tennessee, on Sunday morning.

Metro Nashville Police announced on Twitter that a shooter opened fire at Church of Christ Burnette Chapel. They said that one woman died and an additional six people were shot, with another person wounded by being pistol whipped.

The Nashville Fire Department said “all of the wounded except for one is over the age of 60.”

“This is a mass casualty situation. All of the wounded have been transported to area hospitals,” the department said. “The majority are older adults.”

The shooter was also wounded and taken to a hospital, police said.

Bill Hunter, a former minister of the church, told Tennessean reporter Natalie Allison, “A fella walked in, sat down in a seat and pulled out a pistol and started shooting.”

A woman living next door to the church told WKRN two people came up to her door and said, “Someone is shooting at us at the church.” Her husband went to the church and saw a victim that had been shot in the back.

Nashville police were not immediately available for further comment.

According to News Channel 5, victims were sent to both Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Tristar Skyline Medical Center. Both hospitals have been placed on mass casualty alert.

The church, holds a weekly service at 10 a.m., reports the Tennessean. The area around the church is shut down as police continue their investigation.

Nate Berkus Shares How His Entertaining Style Has Changed Since Welcoming Daughter Poppy

Nate Berkus Shares How His Entertaining Style Has Changed Since Welcoming Daughter Poppy

by Megan Stein @ PEOPLE.com

Nate Berkus is the expert on all things party planning. But since becoming a father to one-year-old daughter, Poppy, the designer’s go-to entertaining style has had a few changes.

“We entertain around her nap schedule now,” Berkus, artistic advisor for LG Studio, told PEOPLE at a breakfast on June 8, which celebrated the sleek line of high-end appliances he helped design.

But when Poppy isn’t snoozing, Berkus, 44, and husband Jeremiah Brent, 31, keep her busy with poolside play dates that are a far cry from a formal outdoor gathering.

“Our home is now filled with blow up toys from Target in the pool as opposed to margaritas,” Berkus said.

And the menu planning is even simpler.

“We throw food on the barbecue, we’ve actually even had a taco truck come once,” Berkus said. “We do put out snacks for the little ones, and they sit and throw them in the pool.”

Although the guest list has been tweaked to include Poppy’s younger crowd, the design-savvy couple couldn’t be happier with their new scene.

“It’s a welcome change,” Berkus said.

Chip and Joanna Gaines Share Their Hilarious First Date Story

Chip and Joanna Gaines Share Their Hilarious First Date Story

by Megan Stein @ PEOPLE.com

Chip and Joanna Gaines are the definition of marriage goals, but their relationship didn’t necessarily have a fairytale start.

In the first chapter of The Magnolia Storyreleased as a sneak peek today, the Fixer Upper dream team spills the details of how they met — and it wasn’t exactly love at first sight.

Joanna agreed to go out on a date with Chip after meeting him and his roommate “Hot John” — who she actually tried to approach minutes earlier, but was too shy — in the waiting room of her dad’s auto shop. She had second thoughts, however, after Chip arrived an hour and a half late to pick her up.

“He didn’t apologize for being late, either. He had so much confidence. I don’t know. I can’t explain it. Only Chip could be an hour and a half late and have no one mad about it,” Joanna writes.

The chapter continues to describe the timeline of their relationship, which didn’t actually start until months after they first went out, when Chip (in typical guy fashion) finally called Joanna back.

“I’d made a bet with Hot John to see who could hold out the longest before calling our dates back,” Chip writes “I really wanted that fifty dollars from John! That’s the only reason I didn’t call.”

After they went out a second time, the rest was history.

Pregnant Kylie Jenner Flashes a Bit of Her Baby Bump and Poses in a Bathrobe with Her Girlfriends

Pregnant Kylie Jenner Flashes a Bit of Her Baby Bump and Poses in a Bathrobe with Her Girlfriends

by Stephanie Petit @ PEOPLE.com

Kylie Jenner is teasing the first signs of a baby bump.

The 20-year-old reality star, who is expecting her first child with beau Travis Scott, shared a glimpse of her stomach in an Instagram photo wishing her BFF Jordyn Woods a happy birthday. In the photo — which was taken on Friday but uploaded on Sunday — Jenner rests her hand on her waist, slightly lifting her baggy black sweatshirt to expose a glimpse of her stomach.

“Yesterday was cute,” Jenner captioned the image with Woods and a giraffe. “Hope you had the happiest of birthdays Jordy. Love you forever ever and beyond..”

The makeup mogul posted another photo with several girlfriends on Sunday, where they’re all posing in white bath robes.

“Mornings,” she simply captioned the mirror selfie with a happy face.

One day after sources confirmed to PEOPLE that she is pregnant, Jenner headed to Las Vegas to watch him perform at the iHeartRadio Music Festival. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, who is expecting a baby girl in February, covered up her bump with an oversized black t-shirt and brown plastic pants.

From a VIP platform, Jenner watched Scott, 25, perform with DJ Khaled, Chance The Rapper, Demi Lovato and French Montana at the T-Mobile Arena.

Scott and Jenner are both exciting about becoming new parents.

“It is an unexpected but completely amazing turn of events that she could not be more excited or thrilled about,” a source previously said.

“Everyone is overjoyed for her,” the source added. “This is the happiest she’s ever been.”

Another insider said Scott began telling friends about the pregnancy in July. “He was so excited he couldn’t keep it in,” says the insider. “He’s been so affectionate and protective of Kylie since they found out. He can’t wait to be a dad.”

Jenner has been dating Scott since earlier this year.

Her baby won’t be the only new member joining the famous KarJenner brood: older sister Kim Kardashian West is also expecting via surrogate. Kardashian West shares two other children with husband Kanye WestSaint, who is 21 months old, and daughter North, who turned 4 in June.

Jenner’s also aunt to brother Rob Kardashian‘s daughter Dream, 10 months, and sister Kourtney Kardashian‘s three children: Mason, 7, Penelope, 5, and Reign, 2.
